Due to the overwhelming response to my inbox from the last post, it seems that the major of people feel resonance to the recent changes in content. In this article I am going to attempt to answer most of the questions by bringing it all together.
Life
There can be many ways to describe THIS, some terms are: enlightenment, non-duality, liberation, awakening, no-self, ascension, etc. However, for the sake of the content in this article let's just call it life.
That is all those terms are pointing to, a invitation to see life as it is, rather than how it's believed to be. This is about dropping all assumptions and belief systems about what life is and just seeing for yourself without those ideas clouding the experience of life itself.
Innocence
We were all programmed to believe something about life before we even got a chance to experience life in its innocence. All of life is innocent and we are no exception. You can literally program a child to believe anything, even without being aware doing so since you yourself were programmed as a child by everyone in your surrounding environment. The brain is a very powerful thing, yet it is innocent too. The brain has no measuring device on how to tell the truth from falsehood. Yet every brain honestly and completely feels that it has the truth, since that is the program being ran. The brain is like a computer that can upload any program. This invitation is about formatting (removing) all the uploaded programs and restoring the computer to new.
The Core Root
In the core essence of every program, there is a similar essential root. The root is believing that concepts are things. In other words, when you look at something, the seeing of that something is a concept. For example, have a look at your hand. If you didn't know that was a hand, then what would it be? Without the assumption of the label: hand, you really have no idea what that thing is. It just is what it is and you are aware of it. Everything is just what it is and you are aware of it.
Isness
Now let's take this a step further, without any labels, concepts, ideas, or assumptions then really everything is one thing.
How so?
Well, the only thing separating your hand from your computer screen is empty-space, yet if that empty-space is not labeled, then it's not separate because it is part of this isness too. Empty-space is the only thing separating one thing from another thing and empty-space is just another thing called: nothing. However if you didn't know to call that: nothing and other things: something, then it all becomes:
thingness
or
one thing
or
nothing
or
everything.
Awareness
Now you may understand that on an intellect level just sitting there looking around and noticing how it's all connected this way, but when you start walking around then the intellect will still assume that it is the body because this body seems to follow your awareness around. However, the body is in this awareness too, just like the empty-space is connecting your hand to the computer screen, the empty-space is also connecting your body to everything else.
In other words, you are aware of this body, not the body is aware of you. People assume that it's the body that gives rise to the awareness of the body, yet how could a body do that when the body is connected to everything else? We already established that everything is connected through no labeling the 'empty-space'.
All assumptions aside, the only thing that anybody truly knows about life, is that there is an awareness happening and that awareness is the source of everything. An awareness of the senses, emotions, and thoughts are happening within this awareness.
Thoughts
Since concepts are not things, then every thought you have is not true because every thought is formed out of words/labels. Thoughts/words/labels are good to communicate but why do you have to explain thoughts-out into words when thinking to yourself? Of course you know what you're seeing/experiencing, so why do we talk to ourselves in word/sentence format? Do you have to form words in your head to know what you mean to communicate to yourself?
It's obvious that thoughts are irrelevant and happen without the cause of you. If you were the cause of thoughts, then you would be able to stop communicating in word for word format when thinking to yourself because that is obvious useless since words are only needed when communicating with someone else.
Thoughts are that way and there is no wrong with it but just notice for yourself what is happening. If you didn't have the label of: thoughts, then you would see them for what they are. It's something chatting in the mind, just utterances, just noises, just voiceless sounds. Nothing special going on there.
Intellectually Verse Intuitively
If you intellectually can comprehend the content in this article, then you now are able to understand the innocence of life. Life is just this isness and this is exactly what enlightenment, non-duality, liberation, awakening, no-self, ascension, etc is pointing to. Just be this awareness and observe for yourself the content of this article, the more you can sit and perceive life in this untouched/unlabeled manner, the more this will dawn on you. That's all it takes.
In other words, keep this pure innocent in your consciousness as often and as long as it takes (be the awareness, realize what thoughts are), then something will open-up. This opening-up will be the intuitive knowing of this. At first this might seem strange and you will feel different somehow (nothing is really changing except your true nature is coming more to the surface).
Strange Feeling Fading
You may notice that this strange feeling does not last and the mind/thoughts will come in and think that what was seen is not there anymore (at least in my experience). However that strange feeling doesn't have to last for you to know what opened-up, it only feels strange at first because every first thing does.
As I explained in How 'Awakening' to 'Enlightenment' Happens: After 'awakening' it's common that it seems to not last (but that is only you attaching to thoughts as something of value again) or feeling as if you're not sensing the same experience as before. The whole point is to be realized. After that 'realized-state' happens and settles, everything will seem the same, the only difference now is that you have an understanding of what this is. It's just life without labeling through thoughts. The mind feels it has lost something because it feels that it can grasp this or hold it for itself. That is the mind trying to put this unlabeling into a new label (since that is the nature of mind/thoughts).
Just remember, there is nothing to get. This is just a very simple/innocent looking at life and through this looking, life becomes what it is already, what is always has been, and what it always will be.
